Despite the unconventional transition, Katie found her astrophysics background a solid foundation for her new role, enabling her to adapt and thrive in the engineering field.

Katie advocates accountability, stressing the importance of owning up to mistakes and viewing them as learning opportunities, especially in team settings. She emphasizes the importance of not repeating errors, ensuring quality control, and furthering her education. Among her proudest achievements is self-funding her college education, and her go-getter attitude is reflected in her decision to pursue a career in engineering, defying the odds with a fearless attitude.
