Katie Krebs.
Katie contributes to electrical design projects from inception to completion, handling various technical tasks such as Title 24 compliance, photometric calculations, and drafting in Revit and AutoCAD.
Originally immersed in astrophysics, her career path shifted following a chance meeting that led to her first engineering internship. Guided by her principle to seize every new opportunity that came her way, she pursued her internship with dedication, learning everything she knew about engineering on the job. Despite the unconventional transition, Katie found her astrophysics background a solid foundation for her new role, enabling her to adapt and thrive in the engineering field.
Katie advocates accountability, stressing the importance of owning up to mistakes and viewing them as learning opportunities, especially in team settings. She emphasizes the importance of not repeating errors, ensuring quality control, and furthering her education. Among her proudest achievements is self-funding her college education, and her go-getter attitude is reflected in her decision to pursue a career in engineering, defying the odds with a fearless attitude.
Her advice for newcomers to the workforce, especially those entering unfamiliar fields, is to embrace courage, appreciate the opportunity to learn, maintain accountability, and view mistakes as chances for growth.
